Nicola enjoys working on a rich mix of commercial commissions including Portraiture, Product, interior and documentary as well as pursuing her personal work and leading photography based projects in local schools.
Working from her Walthamstow Studio and on location Nicola’s work has been published internationally in a wide range of print and online media including the The Guardian, The Independent, Domus, Forum, Time Out and sightunseen.com. She regularly exhibits her work locally and in other London boroughs.
In her personal work, she embarks on a journey using one common ward, name, or theme to create a series of unique portraiture. Nicola’s last three series have been based on a name ‘Andrew’, ‘Claire or Clare’ and from ‘Kate to Catherine’. In each series the sitter has chosen where and when they have their portraits taken, ranging from the first nightclub they went to, to the church they got married in.
Nicola is currently working on the ‘Taking Part’ Olympic commission from LBWF. Having proposed the project and is in the process of securing the commission for Image17, to document and exhibit local sports groups in the run up to the 2012 London Olympics touring six venues in the Borough of Waltham forest in 2012.
