Photography collective Image17 is working on a new commission titled ‘Place Called Home’ awarded by Waltham Forest Council. Selected images will be exhibited from 14th July 2014 at the borough’s award winning William Morris Gallery, alongside work by former resident and international photographer, David Bailey and his portrait of musician Damon Albarn of Blur and Gorillaz.

The commission was awarded in April and seven members of the collective Image17 will produce 120 images of life in the borough of Waltham Forest which captures the diversity and unique qualities of the borough and covers the ordinary and extraordinary moments in residents lives, businesses, events, education, hobbies, community hubs, entertainment, religion, culture and interests.  As Waltham Forest residents themselves, Image17 is able to provide a uniquely local and professional perspective on the project.

The images will feature in a new promotional branding campaign that will include billboards, posters, a new website and feature magazine aimed at highlighting the best of the borough which will also be launched on 14th July 2014.
